A little experiment with a 3D scanner attached to a mobile phone. The accuracy is impressive – even though the resolution is low.
Had to do a lot of fixing, like small missing pieces and holes that go through the whole mesh. So for production this workflow is still tricky.
Since I had no color data, I’ve added some bronze and marble textures in Substance Painter. Those materials allowed me to give some sharper edges, which fix the mesh resolution a bit.
