Picked up the ol’ oil tubes again to jot down a feeling that just needed colors. I have a sort of mild synesthesia – and when an emotion is intense it gives me a visual experience of shapes and colors.
It doesn’t happen too often, and it’s hard to pin down what one sees in a moment. Also, the effect isn’t static, which I can’t capture in an oil painting (the white stripes where moving back and forth). But there is a consistency about what sense maps to another. I described for example in earlier posts which colors map to which numbers in my head.
