Roughly 15 more pages of my sketchbook from 2008. Funny thing: I always thought its the one before my current one. But just when writing this – I noticed it can’t be. I fill at least 2 per year. Well, turns out I have another full sketchbook lying around. Scanning all this will take me aaaaages. Argh. Well gotta do what I gotta do
… Anyways – enjoy, the ending of 2008 in pictures!

The next 4 images are from an event called “Tokyo Decadance”.

One of the magical pages – have them sometimes. I wrote “one pizza please”… when sitting in a bar (I was finishing the pic of a pizza bakery). And 2 minutes later the band “New Model Army” came in with a pizza and put it on my table. The next pictures are some of the band and their friends… although one guy didn’t like the nose I gave him
.

This is the next batch of pictures from last years sketchbook. I posted these before on conceptart.org and in the gallery – but I’ll show them here to keep things in the same sequence as in the book.
I went to Tokyo, Takayama (in the Mountain area), Toyota City (yep, the town were the cars are made) and Okinawa (the Islands in the South).
This is from the airplane.

And this in the Tokyo Metro, when driving to the Hotel.

I visted lots of museums – they are really great in Tokyo. Especially I was amazed by classical Japanese artists – here a pattern by Ogata Kourin.

And this one is by Tawaraya Soutatsu.

Sad Story – part two. Last time there was a old stair from Edo times on this place – now it’s gone, and by now probably some skyscraper there.

Two times the Club Heavy Sick Zero, Tokyo.

A very typical sight in Japan – crazy electric wiring. Very mind boggling – at least when you’re from Germany (where wiring is always underground).

The artist group Chim Pom explaining their art in a random bar. I wish they had stuff like that in Amsterdam.

Toyota Stadium in Toyota City.

Ikue Asazaki.

Can’t go to Japan without doing drunk Karaoke
.

Next batch of sketches from 2008 – featuring some industrial party in Rotterdam. The dresses there you don’t see every day, people pay really attention to it – and have to guts to wear unusual stuff. Really inspiring.

Ok, finally first entry here. I’ll use this blog mainly to post my sketchbook that I carry around with me everywhere.
I’m starting with my sketchbook from last year – I’ll post ca. 10 pics each, until its done. Then i’ll start posting my current sketchbook more on a daily basis.
Maybe I’ll add some of my other pictures – as well links to artists that I discover. How about an occasional emo-rant?
We’ll see how it all goes. Comments, critique and ideas are very welcome.
Here we go – the first pictures here are from a club that I really didn’t enjoy. That made me draw all the more, trying to catch the misery
